Recently identified by Accreditation Canada as an exemplary practice, the Clinical-Legal Intervention Committee (CLIC) offers an innovative solution to pressing intersectorial issues at WMRC.

The CLIC’s mission is to guide and support clinical teams and their managers with regard to issues presenting an elevated risk of prejudice towards the user, third parties or establishments. It complements and seconds the latter, intervening only at their request. Interventions may be of a clinical or administrative nature, or may lead the committee to recommend legal action to obtain assessment orders for capacity to consent, authorization for treatment, protective custody or protective supervision.
